Holiday Helping Hands

As we approach the holiday season, there are a number of ways you can lend a helping hand right here in the Minerva Park/Westerville area. Please consider helping these great local efforts and make a difference right here in your own community!

W.A.R.M. Holiday Food Drive

W.A.R.M. (Westerville Area Resource Ministry) provides compassionate, short-term assistance, educational services, and spiritual support in order to encourage individuals to achieve a God-reliant, self-sufficient life while restoring dignity and hope. Minerva Park residents contribute to WARM through the community garden and donated almost 500 pounds of fresh vegetables and herbs last year alone. Volunteers will be around dropping off bags this weekend (Nov. 25-28). Fill your bag up with the requested items listed on the bag and set the bag on your front stoop or curb on Saturday, December 3rd, and WARM volunteers will be around to collect donations. Your donations have a direct impact on families in the Minerva Park and Westerville area.

Minerva Park Holiday Toy Drive

The Village of Minerva Park is once again collecting toy donations for deserving students at Hawthorne and Minerva France Elementary Schools. The Village reached out to administrators at both schools who identified children in need of holiday gifts this year. They are accepting donations for:

Two 6-year old girls

Two 6-year old boys

One 8-year old boy

One 9-year old boy

One 10-year old girl

One 11-year old boy

The Toy Donation Box is in the main lobby of 3700 Corporate Drive (the village temporary office is in Suite 130 of this building). On Wednesday, November 30th, Village Staff will be in the parking lot of the pool between 5-7 PM to collect toys from those who can't make it over to Corporate Drive.

Some recommendations of toys for those who don't have kids this age:

For the younger boys, beyblades, Pokémon, or anything Sonic. Squishmallows are popular and the younger girls or boys would probably love those. Jewelry or bracelet making kits and things like fidgets or pop-its are really popular as well. Check out this link for more ideas!
