Meet the Suttons! Brian and Barb moved to Minerva Lake Rd. in March of 2003. Brian grew up in Toledo, OH and Barb in Findlay, OH. They had only lived in Columbus a short time when looking for their home. They weren’t familiar with Minerva Park but the house on the golf course seemed just about perfect to them, especially after living in a very small apartment over the Graeters in uptown.
They quickly made the house their own and even married in the back yard while golfers played through on hole #2!
Many may know Brian and Barb as they are both employees of the Village and are very active neighbors in the community. Brian (aka Chipper) became our Maintenance Supervisor in 2019 and Barb has been our Administrative Assistant since 2021. Their roles started as a way for them to officially get involved in helping our community and they’ve become passionate about improving our Village. They immediately loved the community spirit when moving to the Village and want to see it continue to grow.
Prior to working for the Village Brian was a limousine driver and Barb was a band director, retiring from Westerville Schools.
They share 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. They enjoy riding motorcycles and are big Star Wars fans. Brian puts his handyman skills to work at home by making improvements and even built their garage himself! Barb is a talented crochet artist and you can find her each year at the Minerva Park Arts in the Park!
As the saying goes “It takes a Village” and Brian and Barb are a huge part of making our Village so wonderful!
Fun facts about our neighbors. While Brian was a limousine driver he drove Eric Clapton, Vince Gill and Timothy Gun! Barb comes from a military family and she was born in Ethiopia!
