According to The Village of Minerva Park History...
In 1974...Some residents felt there were far too many local garage sales, and that those activities should be consolidated into one big annual event conducted by the newly- created Minerva Park Civic Association.
The 1974 Garage Sale grossed in excess of $2,300. More than $600 was donated to the Emergency Squad.
With 25 residences participating and an estimated 3,000 visitors, it proved to be a huge success. The community garage sale chairman was Tom Dlusky.
The 1975 Garage Sale made $4,000 with $400 being donated to the Emergency Squad.
The Minerva Park Community Association continues the Annual Garage Sale fundraiser to support the many activities and events around the Village!
The Minerva Park Community Association is thrilled to be hosting our 50th Annual Minerva Park Community Garage Sale this upcoming weekend!
September 20, 5-7pm (Preview Day. Participation optional)
September 21, 9am - 3pm
September 22, 11am-3pm (Participation optional. Can be used as a Rain Date if needed.)
Sales will be held throughout the community.
There are currently over 70 homes registered to sell!
*There will be some paper maps with the addresses available (while supplies last) outside of the community building
